Silver Medal at London Plant and Design Show 2010 for garden with Enviromat
Angela Tolputt of Zinnia Garden Design used Enviromat sedum matting in her front garden design entitled Sun Stands Still at the RHS London Plant and Design Show. The judges awarded the garden a Silver medal.
The brief was to design a practical, sustainable and contemporary front garden. Angela chose to feature a beehive with a sedum roof on the sunny, south-facing side of the garden, amongst rosemaries, alpine strawberries and stepover apple trees. The beehive could either be a functional beehive with real bees, useful for pollinating the apple trees, or else convenient storage for recycled items or an attractive compost bin.
Apart from choosing Enviromat for its sustainability, Angela also elected to use Enviromat since the show was in February and sedum matting has the added benefit of maintaining its attractive appearance during winter.
