Enviromat on TV

Avid fans of the Alan Titchmarsh show on ITV will have spotted our very own Enviromat clad bird table on the show on Friday 18th January.

Celebrity gardener Joe Swift highlighted the benefits of what Alan described as an “eco-friendly” roof, pointing out that birds appreciate the sedum blanket for the insects that live in it and also for the dead flower heads, which they use for nesting material.

An Enviromat roof on any scale, whether it be a bird table, a rabbit hutch or a summer house, has a wealth of environmental benefits. Not only is it attractive to birds and insects, Enviromat helps improve air quality by filtering out dust and transforming carbon dioxide into oxygen. A sedum roof will absorb up to 70% of rainwater – thus easing the strain on drainage systems and it will help to keep the building warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
