We placed the enviromat for my parents graves and it has worked very well so far.
Our ‘amazing space' was designed and built by our neighbour, Rich Leeman, a fantastic cabinet maker. Our shepherd hut inspired ‘Ut as we call it has a curved roof which was a challenge to build but to show it off, my husband suggested using a living roof which we thought would finish it off superbly. Once we were ready to install, I ordered the Enviromat which was delivered 2 days later. The Enviromat was in 1m2 pieces making it easy to lift and install. We have a wood burner in the ‘Ut and the Enviromat fits nicely around that. The colour of the roof following installation was lush been, as few weeks later it was awash with pinks and yellows which attracted butterflies and bees.
We happened to have a few pieces left over so we built a wall made from Gabion Baskets and placed the left over Environmat on top of the baskets, it looks amazing.
I have attached pictures of the roof following installation and now. I have also attached a picture of our Enviromat topped Gabion wall.
We love the look of this roofing material and certainly recommend it.
We purchased Enviromat sedum matting for our barbeque roof over 5 years ago. The advice given was that our roof was far too steep and the sedum wouldn't do very well as a result. Well we went ahead anyway and five years on and it is thriving. We feed it twice a year with the Green Roof Feed and water it if we experience a prolonged dry spell.
Some people may read this and think it's biased because we sell it however, we are proud to be part of a business that grows such great products and simply want to share our opinion with you.
From the off they were friendly, full of useful info and changed my mind about price. I ordered 10 square meters which cam within a week as promised. Brilliant phone advise on storage and fitting. Great follow on service. We are now seriously considering doing our 60 square meter extension. Our experience with Enviromat was first class!
The picture is of the roof four months after laying - We have loved watching it grow and flower over the first summer. Get one today people.
And we had a great time fitting the green roof
I found the best way to get the mat onto the roof was by using an old one tonne bulk bag from the builders merchants with one of us on the roof pulling up and the other below supporting. This helped the mat which was rolled in the bag to stay intact.
We have already had some encouraging comments from visitors.
